Personal Care Services

Personal care services are designed to assist individuals with daily activities to ensure they maintain their dignity, comfort, and independence. These services are typically provided to seniors, persons with disabilities, or those recovering from illness or surgery. Here’s a detailed look at the various aspects of personal care services.

1. Toileting Assistance
  • Toileting Support: Assistance with using the toilet, including getting to and from the bathroom, transferring on and off the toilet, and ensuring hygiene.

  • Incontinence Care: Managing and addressing incontinence issues, including changing incontinence products, cleaning, and maintaining skin integrity to prevent irritation and infections.

  • Catheter cleaning, catheter bag emptying and bag replacement.

  • Bowel Care: Assistance with monitoring bowel movements, maintaining skin integrity, reporting any concerns, colostomy care and constipation care.

2. Bathing and Grooming
  • Bathing Assistance: Helping with bathing, whether it's a shower or a bed bath, to ensure cleanliness and comfort. This includes washing hair, body, and maintaining personal hygiene.

  • Grooming: Assistance with grooming tasks such as hair care, shaving, nail care, and applying lotions to maintain skin health and appearance.

3. Dressing and Undressing
  • Dressing Assistance: Helping individuals get dressed and undressed, including selecting appropriate clothing and ensuring comfort and dignity.

  • Adaptive Clothing: Providing assistance with adaptive clothing designed for individuals with limited mobility or dexterity.

  • Compression Stockings: Our caregivers are trained and able to assist with putting on and taking off compression stockings.

4. Oral Hygiene
  • Dental Care: Assistance with brushing teeth, flossing, and denture care to maintain oral hygiene and prevent dental issues.

  • Mouth Care: Ensuring mouth care for individuals who may have difficulty swallowing or are on medication that affects oral health.

  • Assistance with encouraging a regular oral hygiene routine, verbal prompts and supervision as needed.
