Mobility Assistance
Our mobility assistance services are provided by trained and compassionate caregivers who prioritize the safety, comfort, and independence of our clients. By offering comprehensive proactive support, we help clients maintain their mobility and enhance their quality of life.Â
1. Help with Mobility Aids

Assist clients with using their mobility aids. Caregivers may offer stand by assist while clients are mobilizing and using the mobility aids.

Encouraging the use of mobility aids when appropriate. Some people may need reminders to use their mobility aids.

Maintenance: Regularly checking the condition of mobility aids and reporting if any adjustments need to be made.

2. Mechanical Lifts

Safe Transfers: Using mechanical lifts to safely transfer clients from one position to another (e.g., from bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet). This helps prevent injuries to both clients and caregivers.

Training and Support: Providing training to caregivers and clients on the safe operation of mechanical lifts. This includes proper positioning, securing the client, and operating the lift controls.

Maintenance: Regular inspection to ensure safety. Reporting any concerns as needed.

Please Note: If a client requires to be lifted, caregivers are only to use a mechanical lift and not manually lift the clients themselves, this ensures the safety of the caregivers and clients.

3. Re-Positioning

​Client may require re-positioning while in bed if unable to mobilize/turn themselves. Caregivers ensure proper re-positioning techniques are used to keep themselves and clients safe. If a client is in bed for long periods of time, re-positioning in bed or in a chair is beneficial for skin integrity and health.

Operation of medical beds and recliners may be needed if client unable to operate.

4. Fall Prevention

Comprehensive Evaluations: Conducting thorough home safety assessments to identify potential hazards such as loose rugs, poor lighting, and cluttered walkways.

Recommendations: Providing actionable recommendations to improve home safety, including installing grab bars, handrails, bed alarms, personal monitoring systems/alarms and non-slip mats.

Caregivers are trained to provide optimal safety with mobility.
